DARRELL LANIGAN FINISHES THIRD IN WOOLMS POINTS

NOVEMBER 6, 2011 --- The Lanigan Autosports, Inc. team wrapped up their 2011 racing season from November 3-5 at the immaculate Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. The 5th Annual 'Lowes Foods World Finals' closed out the year for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and a pair of $10,000 top prizes were on the line. During the qualifying session on Thursday night, Darrell Lanigan timed in fifty-third fastest for Friday's show and forty-fourth quickest for Saturday's program.

When Friday evening rolled around, Darrell ran seventh in his loaded heat race and later took use of a series provisional to start twenty-fifth on the grid in the 50-lap main event. The Union, Kentucky standout passed twelve competitors on Friday to earn a thirteenth place finish. In front of a jammed-packed grandstand and the cameras of the SPEED Channel on Saturday, Darrell ran fifth in his heat race and second in his B-Main. After rolling off from the outside of the eleventh row in the 50-lapper, Darrell drove past fourteen cars en route to a steady eighth place performance. Following the conclusion of the season, he is credited with a third place points finish on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour. LANIGAN SEES RAIN AT ATOMIC SPEEDWAY...

OCTOBER 31, 2011 --- Darrell Lanigan and the Lanigan Autosports, Inc. team were in the pit area on Saturday, October 29 at the newly renamed Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for the unsanctioned 'Trick or Treat Topless 50.' Darrell qualified third fastest in time trials, but that was the last time he would take to the track, as a brief rain shower passed through the area after qualifying and postponed the show. The $5,000 to win 'Trick or Treat Topless 50' will now be held next Saturday, November 5, but Darrell will be at the Dirt Track at Charlotte for the 'World Finals' instead.

MECHANICAL WOES SIDELINE LANIGAN IN FALL 50...

OCTOBER 24, 2011 --- The Lanigan Autosports, Inc. team continued their 2011 journey on Saturday, October 22 at the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The unsanctioned 'Fall 50' took place over the weekend at the 1/2-mile speedplant and a $5,000 top prize was on the line. Darrell Lanigan advanced to third in his heat race, which locked him into the 50-lap feature event. The Union, Kentucky standout then moved all the way up to second in the 'Fall 50' and had his sights firmly set on the win before mechanical woes knocked him out of the race. Darrell wound up credited with a disappointing seventeenth place finish in the A-Main. Full results from Florence can be located online at www.florencespeedway.com.

LANIGAN BUSY LAST WEEK AT CHARLOTTE AND ATOMIC

OCTOBER 17, 2011 --- Darrell Lanigan and his #29 team hit the road with both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from October 12-15 in the states of North Carolina and Ohio. On Wednesday night, the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina played host to the $10,000 to win 'World of Outlaws Showdown.' Darrell suffered problems during preliminary action at the 4/10-mile oval and was forced to take a series provisional to gain access into the 50-lap main event. The Union, Kentucky standout later passed ten competitors during the 'World of Outlaws Showdown' to salvage a thirteenth place effort.

On Friday and Saturday, the newly renamed Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio took center stage by hosting the 31st Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship.' After seeing nothing but rain on Friday night, Darrell timed in thirtieth fastest in his group during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying on Saturday afternoon. With one-lane track conditions being the norm throughout the day, Darrell finished seventh in his stacked heat race and opted to skip his B-Main. Therefore, he did not transfer into the $50,000 to win DTWC. Complete results from both Charlotte and Atomic can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

MECHANICAL WOES HAMPER LANIGAN AT ROLLING WHEELS...

OCTOBER 8, 2011 --- The Lanigan Autosports, Inc. team and driver Darrell Lanigan rejoined the World of Outlaws Late Model Series circuit on Thursday night, October 6 at the Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, New York. As part of Super DIRT Week, the WOOLMS battle paid $10,000 to the winner. Darrell timed in seventh fastest during the qualifying session and later finished third in his loaded heat race. After rolling off seventh on the grid in the 50-lap feature event, Darrell was up inside of the top five by lap 12 when a burnt piston sent him pitside with a DNF. The Union, Kentucky standout was relegated to a disappointing twenty-second place performance, but still finds himself third in the latest WOOLMS point standings.
